Opal

Opal, one of Jewel’s kittens from when they were both strays, came to us totally feral several months ago. As in, she would literally bounce off of the walls of her cage if anyone approached her. She was untouchable. But slowly, with time and patience, she came to realize that she actually liked to be pet. She will even ask to be pet, and purrs so sweetly when you do! That being said, she still holds some of her distrust of people from her more feral days. She does not like to be picked up, at all. She also needs to feel like she can escape if she wants. If she is done being pet and leaves, just let her go. Though she will inevitably come back looking for more petting. She must be handled very slowly and carefully so as to not make her nervous. She needs a very special home that is willing to give her all the patience she needs, and would be okay with it if she never became all that cuddly. No small children; she needs a quiet, stable home. She is fine with other quiet cats, and doesn’t seem to mind dogs at all either. We will be extra picky on her home, as she needs an extra understanding home. If you think you you be that extra special home, come meet this lovely gal!
