  1. Gunner is a VERY sweet dog. He was our neighbor’s dog so I got to see him frequently. As a beagle owner myself, by the sounds of it, you would be a great fit. Beagles love their walks and LOVE being around people. My beagle, fortunately, gets to come to work with me every day. I hope it works out for you and Gunner. 🙂

  2. We are very interested in Gunner. We adopted a Coon Hound from the Tri-County Humane Society here in St. Cloud last year and though he had been returned to the humane society 3 times for what they said was unrealistic expectations, we found him absolutely delightful. We had a very positive experience with the humanes society and are looking forward to getting another dog. I have experience with Beagles and Gunner looks like what we have been looking for . I understand he needs help in the housetraining department which is fine since I and the gentleman I live with are both retired (early), walk 2-3 times per day for at least a mile or so each time and are home all day and if we go somewhere, the dog usually comes with. We are looking for another dog to round out our family.

    • Hello! You sound like you could be a great fit for Gunner! You should call the shelter at 507-644-3853 during open hours (3-7 M-F and 11-1 Sat). The person who is in during open hours is the one who is in charge of adoptions. As of closing today (Tuesday) there were no applications in for Gunner yet. If you’d like, we have the adoption application and agreement available on this website, under “adoption forms.”

He really is such a sweetheart! I, as one of the staff, have taken him out on a walk and played with him. He walks so nicely; doesn’t even really pull. He is just happy to do anything with people! He gets along great with other dogs too. I brought my own dog along, and from the first time they met, they were pals. That’s just how Gunner treats every dog. Thank you for your interest in him! If you have any questions, feel free to ask. 🙂
