Haze

Meet Haze, the kitty who is very sweet and cuddly with those she really trusts.

Don’t let her shyness fool you! Once you earn Haze’s trust, she loves nothing more than to sit in your lap and be pet. It is because of her shyness that Haze has been here at the shelter for more than a year now, waiting for a home to call her own. But I have watched her eagerly trot over to take the lap of several regular volunteers that she has become quite fond of. Once settled in a home of her own, she will be one sweet kitty if you just give her a chance! The shy ones tend to be some of the most loyal cats once you earn their trust!

Haze, taken Nov. 9, 2018. She has grown out into a lovely adult!

Haze came to us as a stray with a hurt paw. She was quite shy and unsure of her new surroundings for several weeks. She would keep her tail tucked between her legs even when getting pet, as though she were worried someone would hurt her. Her confidence has grown so much since then! She now struts around the room with her tail held high and will approach people she knows for attention and some lovin’.

Haze is what is known as a ticked blue tabby. This means that she only has stripes on her face, legs, and tail. The rest of her body is a lovely smooth misty grey color.

She was probably around a year old on arrival, which means she was born appx. Summer/Fall 2016. (Yes, she has been here since August 1, 2017.)

Haze on arrival; a scrawny and scared young cat.

She has been spayed and is updated on her vaccines as a part of her adoption fee. She has also received dewormings, been treated topically with a flea/ear mite preventative (Revolution), tested negative for feline leukemia, had a negative fecal float to test for internal parasites, and has had a medicated/antifungal bath.

If you are interested in adopting her, please call the shelter at 507-644-3853, or else stop in during open hours, no appointment necessary, and meet them: M-F 2-6 and Sat 10-Noon. Even if you aren’t looking to adopt, you are welcome to come play with the kitties and help socialize them!

I am interested! I think we would be a good fit! She would have the run of the house as it would be just the two of us. She would be an indoor cat! I have just had surgery on my arm & am in a full cast so I can’t drive. Cast comes off May 1st. I will see if I can get someone to drive me before that. Anxious to see if we connect.
