Morris right after his amputation, taken Sept. 20, 2018.

Morris originally came to our shelter back in September with a badly mangled and infected leg, which the vets said had been that way for up to a year. Poor cat was in pain for some time! It was a relief for him to get that leg amputated, as it was far beyond repair. Through it all he has remained amicable, never once being cross with anybody. He is a little shy of hands at first; he acts like he’s used to getting hit. 🙁 But once he realizes you mean well, oh how he loves to be pet. He’ll let you pet him for as long as you are willing. It is so rewarding to gain his trust enough to get to hear his soft little purr get going! Having only three legs doesn’t slow him down either; he can still jump up onto the high perches just as well as the other cats. He gets along great with other cats, and seems tolerant of dogs. Morris is a young adult, probably just a few years old.

As a part of the adoption fee, he comes neutered, up to date on his vaccinations, wormed, preventatively treated for coccidia and giardia, tested negative for feline leukemia, having had a negative fecal, having had an antifungal bath, and having been treated topically with a flea/ear mite preventative (Revolution.)

If you are interested in adopting Morris, please call the shelter at 507-644-3853, or stop in during open hours, M-F 3-7 and Sat 11-1. Even if you aren’t looking to adopt, feel free to stop on by and play with the critters; they do so enjoy it! No appointments necessary.
