Male/neutered, domestic shorthair, cinnamon tabby. Born appx. June 2018.
Meet Tom, the handsome, mild mannered young cat who just wants to get along with everyone. Tom is not the outgoing and social type; he’s the type that wants to get to know you first before trusting you. Once he does, which doesn’t take long at all, he appreciates getting stroked and loved on. I would recommend taking the time to get to know Tom when you go to visit him. Sit with him a while, talk with him, pet him. Then get rewarded when he realizes you mean him no harm and really starts to enjoy your company. I imagine in a home setting, with familiar people and surroundings, his personality would really get the chance to come out. We hear that so often from people who take home the more introverted cats. Often times, they are the types that bond most strongly with their family. He is easygoing with all the other cats he has met, though he doesn’t appreciate cats that get in his face too much. He was alright with the dog he met, but with the same stipulation that he wasn’t too interested in interacting.
He is neutered and up to date on his vaccinations. He has been tested negative for feline leukemia, has been wormed, been treated with a flea/ear mite preventative, has a negative fecal float to check for internal parasites, and has had a medicated/antifungal bath.
If you are interested in adopting him, call the shelter at 507-644-3853, of else stop in at the shelter to meet him in the near future. No appointment is necessary. Even if you aren’t looking to adopt, feel free to stop in and play with any of the critters at the shelter during open hours.
