Honey Bun

Honey Bun

Honey Bun needs a new home! This little chihuahua mix is incredibly sweet and loving; she adores being held and cuddled, and wants to always be at the side of people she knows and trusts. She can be a little distrustful of strangers at first, especially men, but warms up pretty quickly once she realizes you’re not going to hurt her. She is the kind of sweetness that if she is scared of something, will go to the person she trusts and ask to be held and comforted. She is not at all nippy. She was abandoned by her last family, left behind when they moved out, but despite that just wants to love again and be a part of a family again. She would love to be someone’s little cuddle buddy and constant companion.

She gets along great with cats and other dogs. Despite being only 8 pounds, she is not afraid to tell the other dog who’s boss, even if the other dog is 3x her size, and he respects her for it. She has a fairly low-key demeanor; as in, she is not high energy. She is one of those dogs who really enjoys a soft bed and knows the art of chilling, though she does love a good walk when offered.

We estimate Honey Bun to be pretty young, around 2-3 years old. She weighs in at only 8 pounds and likely won’t get any larger.

Honey Bun will be spayed shortly and up to date on her vaccinations as a part of her adoption fee. He has also been dewormed and treated topically with a flea/tick preventative (Advantage.)

If you are interested in adopting, please call the shelter at 507-644-3853 or else stop in and meet him, no appointment necessary, during open hours: M-F 2-6 and Sat 10-Noon. Even if you aren’t looking to adopt, stop in anyway and play with the critters; they enjoy the socializing and exercise!
