Lovey’s kittens have been weaned and now Lovey, who lives up to her name, is looking for a home to call her own!

Lovey was born appx. Spring 2018.

She gave birth to 5 kittens on March 18, 2019. Kittens will be ready to go to new homes after they turn eight weeks old on May 13, 2019. Lovey will be available at that time as well.

Lovey is a sweet, roundeyed little cat who came to the shelter with five newborn kittens. She is the best kind of mama cat; she is very attentive to her kittens and takes great care of them, but is also very trusting of people and lets us staff handle them as needed. (Though we do mostly just leave her alone to do her thing, there are some necessary care items that we must do to ensure everyone is healthy and thriving.) The kittens are fat and round and healthy thanks to the kind folks who cared for her after she was left behind when her owner moved out.

Lovey will be spayed shortly, as soon as she dries up and puts on a little weight, and has been updated on her vaccines. She has also been dewormed and received a topical flea/ear mite preventative (Revolution.) She has tested negative for feline leukemia, had a negative fecal float to check for internal parasites, and has received a medicated/ antifungal bath.

If you are interested in adopting, please call the shelter at 507-644-3853, or else stop in during open hours; M-F 2-6 and Sat 10-Noon. Even if you aren’t looking to adopt, feel free to come in and play with her, or any of the other critters, anyway. No appointment necessary; stop in anytime the shelter is open.
