***Adopted!*** Mayah

Mayah is a sweet and cuddly gal who also has plenty of pep and play. She is used to being a pampered house pet. She can’t get enough lap time and belly rubs! She is extremely social and will howl and talk to you. She had a funny little ritual at her former home where she would play on the floor by the bed. When she does settle in for sleep, she enjoys sleeping belly up with her paws in the air. When it’s warm out, she enjoys laying on tile flooring to keep cool.

Mayah loves to chase toys that are thrown for her, and will give them up easily. She is not at all resource possessive with people. She did tell off her doggy housemate at her former home for trying to take her food; she prefers to have her own eating and drinking space if there are other dogs. She also has been known to bury her food, then come back for it later.

Maya loves exercise of any sort. She loves walks, though she can pull. (She would probably prefer to be running!) If off leash, she comes back if you clap your hands. She will wander if you leave her unsupervised outside. (Though will come back if called.) In the winter town, she adores getting time out to play in the snow, and will spend as much time outside as you let. She will build herself a snow nest. She also enjoys eating snow, and will do that over drinking from a water bowl if given the choice. A fenced-in yard would be awesome for Mayah. In the summer, Mayah loves to swim. She also enjoys eating fish.

She has an easygoing temperament with people and animals in general. Mayah is good with strangers; she won’t bark at them, and is very quick to offer her tummy to be rubbed.

Mayah likes cats and loves kittens. She is friendly with other dogs and will generally greet them with a play pose.

Maya can get anxious about getting left alone. Her former owner kenneled her when he needed to leave her. She also used to have a doggy housemate to keep her company. She is afraid of thunder.

Mayah was fully house trained at her previous home. (Though with any dog in a new situation, accidents can happy until a new routine is established.)
