Colt is a happy and sweet puppy who gets along with everyone! He is friendly and playful. He has never met a person he doesn’t love on sight. He’ll take all the attention he can get, as he is very social. He also loves to cuddle and be held, and to have his belly rubbed.
(And no, that is not dirt on his right front leg; he has this crazy grey mottling that just appears to be a part of his natural coat color.)
He is learning the concept of going to the bathroom outside, but as he is only 12 weeks old, he has not yet mastered the art of potty training.
Born appx. June 5, 2019.
9.4 lbs. at 12 weeks old and growing. He will likely be medium-sized full grown, though we can never guarantee it, as we don’t know his breeds.
Colt loves other dogs and cats. He gets sent out in a play group here at the shelter with four other dogs, and adores being able to run and rough with them!
Colt is a male shepherdy-looking mix, though we have no idea of his parentage, so it’s all a best guess.
Colt is getting neutered on Wed. 8-28, and will be given his rabies shot when he is old enough as a part of his adoption fee. He has received his bordetella, and distemper vaccines. He has also been wormed and treated with a topical flea/mite/heartworm preventative (Revolution.) He has had a fecal float to check for intestinal parasites, which was negative.
If you are interested in adopting, stop in to the shelter any time it’s open, no appointment necessary: M-F 2-6 and Sat 10-noon. You can also call at 507-644-6853. Even if you aren’t looking to adopt, you are welcome to stop in and play with any of the dogs or cats that are waiting for their forever homes.
