Buster is a fun and energetic puppy who is 83 lbs at only 8 months old and still growing. He is going to be huge! His former family describes him as friendly with everyone and very social. He was just a bit too much size and energy for them! He needs a home that can train him and give all sorts of play and exercise.
He is playful with other dogs, and mostly just ignores cats. He is not afraid of strangers; he greets them with a tail wag and a bark. He loves car rides, playing with toys, and playing fetch. He loves getting his fur brushed.
Buster has shown some resource possessiveness, but more in a puppy-play type of fashion. Still, he could do to learn to ask for his food instead of just taking it. (A good skill for all dogs!)
He is very energetic and strong, and does pull on the leash. He needs some leash training.
He is very good at staying on his property, even off leash, and has never wandered off.
Buster is housetrained and has been kept as a house pet. We were told he is afraid of loud noises like the vacuum cleaner.
Buster has been neutered and will come up to date on his vaccines. He has also been dewormed and treated with a topical flea/tick preventative.
If you are interested in adopting, you can stop by and meet the pets here at the shelter any time the shelter is open; M-F 2-6 and Sat 10-noon. No appointment necessary. Even if you aren’t looking to adopt, come in anyway and give the critters some love.
