Jellybean

Jellybean, taken 06.25.2019.

Jellybean is a sweet young cat who loves to be pet. She is a tiny thing at only about 6 pounds, and will likely not get much bigger. She is just one of those cute little cats.

Jellybean is a kitten who had kittens herself, and is now ready to just be a cat. She was found as a stray with kittens, whom she diligently raised to weaning. There were six of them; quite the feat for a young mom! Now the kittens are weaned, and she is free to be a kitten again herself.

Jellybean was born in Summer 2018.

She will be spayed as soon as she dries up, and is up to date on her vaccines. She has also been dewormed, treated with a topical flea/ear mite preventative (Revolution), and has tested negative for feline leukemia.

If you are interested in adopting, please call the shelter at 507-644-3853, or else stop in anytime the shelter is open, no appointment necessary. Even if you aren’t looking to adopt, come in anyone and give the critters some attention! It makes their stay more pleasant while they wait for their forever homes.

Blue Bell

Blue Bell. Female, blue and white, domestic shorthair. Found as a stray in Redwood Falls on Monday 07/29. Available for adoption Tues. 08/26 if not claimed.

Blue Bell was found in someone’s garage in Redwood Falls. She is super friendly and purry. She loves to be held and played with!

She will be spayed* and updated on her vaccines as a part of his adoption fee. She has also received dewormings, been treated topically with a flea/ear mite preventative (Revolution), tested negative for feline leukemia, had a negative fecal float to test for internal parasites, and has had a medicated/antifungal bath.

*Kittens who are not yet old enough at the time of adoption will be spayed/neutered as a part of the adoption fee when they reach an appropriate age. The adopter needs to bring the kitten back to our partnering vet, Riverside Animal Clinic in Redwood Falls. The adoption fee covers their spay/neuter as long as it’s done through this specific vet. (We do not cover the spay/neuter if done at a non-partnering veterinarian.)

If you are interested in adopting, please call the shelter at 507-644-3853, or else stop in during open hours, no appointment necessary, and meet him: M-F 2-6 and Sat 10-Noon. Even if you aren’t looking to adopt, you are welcome to come play with the kitties and help socialize them!

Brody

Brody. Male/neutered, brindle spitz/terrier? mix. 52 lbs. Born appx. 2017. Found on Sunday 7/27 at large in Redwood Falls. Available for adoption Sat. Aug. 3 if not claimed.

Brody is an amazing dog! He is so sweet and well behaved! He sits nicely, he walks quietly on a loose leash, he asks permission before going through doors, and he doesn’t jump. He loves belly rubs. He also loves cuddles and pettings, especially getting his rump scratched. He is a very smart dog who is eager to please and to learn. He is generally a chill dog, though you can really get him going playing. He gets so silly and happy! And you have to love those huge ears that perk up when he is happy. 🙂 And that cute curly tail!

Brody

He gets along well with the dogs and cats he’s met so far. He didn’t even mind when the little terrier mix he met grumped at him. Brody seem pretty submissive. He in general seems pretty chill about new people and animals. He doesn’t have a high drive to chase.

Brody loves belly rubs!

He lets me readily take his toys and mess with his food. He is not possessive about them, with me or with other animals so far. He is very gentle about taking treats.

Brody

He does appear to have some separation anxiety, though that could also be because he is at a shelter, which is a strange new place away from his family.

Brody

We don’t really know what kind of breeds are in him; he is clearly a mixed up mixed breed. The pointed ears and curly tail suggest some kind of spitz lineage, such as an Akita. He also looks like he may have some kind of terrier in him, like AmStaff. But, really, it’s all a guess. 🙂

Brody

If you are interested in adopting, please contact the shelter at 507-644-3853, or else stop in and meet him anytime the shelter is open, no appointment necessary: M-F 2-6 and Sat 10-noon

Tipsy

Tipsy. Male/neutered Shih tzu or mix. Appx 8-10 years old. Found at large on Fri. 7/26 in Redwood Falls. Available for adoption on Fri. Aug. 2 if not claimed.

Tipsy is friendly and cuddly. He loves laps, and being cuddled or held. He also enjoys being pet pretty much as long as you are willing. He is the chill kind of little dog that would happily crash with you on the couch in the evening and watch your favorite show with you. He also likes going out on walks. He is very good on the leash; he just ambles along behind, enjoying the sights. He gets along great with cats and other dogs, but would likely not be a good fit for young children, as he gets grumpy if someone causes discomfort. (He grumped at me for removing some mats from him, though I can’t exactly blame him. He was great to handle until I caused some discomfort by tugging a mat too hard I was trying to cut out. Even then, he just barked and swung his head around, like “Hey! Cut that out!”)

He is a non-shedding dog, which means he will need frequent grooming to keep him happy and clean. His fur is very soft and mats easily. (Though is splendid to pet!)

He appears to be housetrained. He waits to go outside to do his business, and hasn’t messed his kennel yet. (Though all dogs when transitioning to a new home may have accidents until a routine is established.)

Trouble

Trouble is a rambunctious young cat who loves to explore.

Trouble

Trouble does not like dogs, and is not fond of other cats; he likes his space. He does not do well with young children. (He may have been teased at his previous home.)

Born Spring 2018.

Pringles

Pringles at about 7 weeks old, taken July 25, 2019. Male, domestic shorthair. Orange tabby and white, mackerel stripes. Born appx. June 5, 2019.

Little Pringles was found all by himself roaming near Daktronics. He is very friendly. He looks like he recently overcame an upper respiratory infection, due to the hair loss tracts under his eyes. Don’t worry, the fur will grow back, and he is vaccinated now to help prevent future infections.

He will be neutered* and updated on his vaccines as a part of his adoption fee. He has also received dewormings, been treated topically with a flea/ear mite preventative (Revolution), tested negative for feline leukemia, had a negative fecal float to test for internal parasites, and has had a medicated/antifungal bath.
