Ziggy

Ziggy needs a new home! He is an orange tabby and white, though mostly white, and was born around mid June of this year. He is a littermate to Blizzard and Wynter. He is still a bit shy, but I’m sure his personality will shine through as he is cuddled up by our volunteers.

Emilia needs a new home! She is an adorable and sweet little cinnamon tabby with the cutest white face mask. She was born around the end of June, so she is ready to go just as soon as she finds a family to take her home!

Hitch

Hitch needs a new home! He is so named because he had managed to get into someone’s vehicle and hitch a ride to Country Kitchen, though he does not belong to the person in who’s vehicle he was found. No one came looking for him, so now he needs a new family to call his own. He is a very sweet and friendly kitten who was probably born around the end of May/beg. of June.
The kittens always welcome visitors to come play with them during open hours at the shelter. They love it so, and it helps to make them so wonderfully social for their future family. We love our visitors and volunteers! <3 [caption id="attachment_3638" align="aligncenter" width="500"] Hitch[/caption]

Wyatt

Wyatt will be needing a new home soon! Look at those handsome swirly stripes on his side! He came in so scared, but he is now becoming quite outgoing and playful with people, as well as other cats. He just loves to play with his pal Emilia! This poor little guy was found sick, underweight, and wormy in a cart at Walmart, but he has doubled his weight in the two weeks since he arrived at the shelter and is almost back to health. It won’t be long before he is ready to go to a new home. Applications are currently being accepted for him, in the hopes that he will have a home waiting for him when he is ready. He was born around the end of July.

Shadow ***Special Needs***

We have a very sweet special needs cat who is looking for a new home! Meet Shadow, one of the sweetest, most mellow cats you will meet, who also happens to have some stunning aqua colored eyes. He is around 2-3 years old. He is such a love! He adores being pet and loved on. He gets along great with dogs too.
What makes him special needs is that he tested positive for Feline Leukemia, an immunodeficient virus that is lifelong. It means he will always be more susceptible to illness. However, as an indoor only pet, and with good care, we know of a rescue that has consistently seen these cats live for 10 or more years. The few we have at the shelter have made wonderful turnarounds with proper care. He does need to have a home with no other cats unless they too are FelV+, as it is infectious through biting. It is NOT contagious to humans or dogs, or anything else except cats. And of course, the shelter is always willing to provide continued support.

Lily

Lily needs a new home! This poor kitten had quite the rough start to life. We were shocked to learn that she was not a stray, but owned by someone who knew she had an eye infection and left it untreated. She was brought into the shelter after her owner ended up in jail, but by then it was too late to save her eye. I am not going to post the picture of her upon arrival, because it is too gruesome. How the vet put it, the protruding mass from her socket was no longer even an eye, but a mass of granulation tissue and rotting flesh. Little toad woke up from her surgery to remove the eye ready to play and to love again. She is such a happy kitty; she doesn’t seem to begrudge anyone her circumstances. In fact, she seems relieved to be unburdened of the constant pain that her eye had caused her for likely weeks.
Lily was born around the beginning of June, we figure. She is being fostered at the vet’s office who took care of her; she is at Fairfax Vet currently, if you would like to meet her.

Toad’s recently removed eye.
