Jolly and Ollie

Ollie and Jolly need a new home! They came in together rather scared, but have quickly gotten used to the room full of other friendly, outgoing kittens in which they now live, as well as the visitors who come to play with them all. Both have learned in short order just how much he enjoys being pet. Both will purr so nicely!

Ollie has become more outgoing more quickly than Jolly; he comes right out with the other cats to play and get some pets! I think he is going to become a really chill, cool cat with a little more socialization. Once a cat learns to love petting, there’s no going back! They just get more social from there. (:

Jolly is still a touch more shy, but coming out of his shell so quickly! It might take Jolly a few minutes when a person first comes into the room, but slowly, foot by foot, he will keep planting himself closer to the person in the middle of the room playing with everyone else. Soon, he is within arm reach. The is purring away as he is getting stroked. Oh, he loves it so! With a little more socialization, this is going to be one lubby dubby kitten. <3

We estimate them to have born around the end of July, 2018.

Jolly and Ollie will be neutered shortly. They have been wormed, including preventatives for coccidia and giardia, treated with a topical flea/ear mite preventative (Revolution), given a medicated antifungal bath, had a negative fecal float to test for internal parasites, and have tested negative for feline leukemia. They will have their age appropriate shots as part of the adoption fee as well.

Come meet these handsome little purr-purr beasts at the shelter during open hours, no appointment necessary. Hours are M-F 3-7 and Sat 11-1. Call at 507-644-3853 for more information on adopting. Even if you aren’t looking to adopt, feel free to stop in and play anyway! The socialization does them good.

Beauregard (Beau)

Beau

Beau

Beau

Beauregard needs a new home! Beau was born on November 15, 2017, so is just about to turn a year old. He is a friendly labrador retriever/ border collie/ springer spaniel mix in a glossy shade of black. He is still a growing boy at 68 lbs, so will be a pretty good sized dog when he is all grown up.
Beau has a lot of puppy energy right now. He needs a home that will give him a lot of attention and activity. We were told by his previous owners that he loves to fetch, and went hunting once, which he really enjoyed. He could probably be taught to be a hunting dog. Right now he is not trained as such, though he does know basic obedience. He does seem to have inherited a good chunk of sensitivity from his border collie lineage; he is a smart dog. Like all puppies, he loves to chew, so lots of toys and supervised time to teach him what he is allowed to chew are a must. He can be a touch shy of strangers at first, though quickly warms up. He is also learning to not jump up on people.

Beau will be neutered shortly, and is up to date on his vaccinations, all as a part of his adoption fee. He has also been wormed and treated with a flea/tick preventative (Frontline+)

If you are interested in adopting Beau, please call the shelter at 507-644-3853, or else stop in when the shelter is open, M-F 3-7 and Sat 11-1. Even if you aren’t looking to adopt, you are welcome to come on in, no appointment necessary, and play with or walk Beau (or any other critters!) while he waits for his forever home.

Introducing Simon, a very handsome Seal Lynx Point Siamese Mix, who LOVES elderly people! The other thing this charming kitty loves is his kitty soul mate, “Miss Kitty”. Before you read on, please understand that as much as these two wonderful cats are bonded together and are looking for a home together, they don’t only have eyes for each other. Simon and Miss Kitty really adore their special people too! They especially adore elderly people!

Simon is a 12 year young Siamese mix who has purrsonality plus! He’s extremely social, and will be in your face to remind you that he needs his lovey dovey time with you! If your cell phone turns up missing, this silly kitty could be the culprit! He’s a very entertaining and affectionate companion who you will fall head over heels in love with in no time at all! Simon has a lovely short coat, and also is front declawed. He is a big cat who loves to be on someone’s lap and especially enjoys snuggling in bed with his favorite person or people at night. He is a youngster at heart and enjoys playing with the laser light and any other fun kitty toys you may have! He has excellent litter box habits; he’s a very clean boy. Simon tells us that he’d prefer not to live with dogs or young children. If you asked him what his perfect home would be, he would tell you that he’d prefer to live with his BFF, Miss Kitty, and is happiest when his person or people are at home with him. He’s a very social kitty.

Simon and Miss Kitty lost the home they shared almost their entire lives so far, when their beloved owners were no longer able to care for them. This awesome bonded pair wants to find that same kind of happiness again. They’re hoping for a loving, quiet home with people who will be around the majority of the time for them. What their owners will receive in return is unconditional love and companionship, not to mention appreciation for giving them back the lives they miss so dearly since their original owners had to give them up.

Simon is neutered and completely vetted. He is a healthy boy, and is just a great cat to have around. Simon hopes you find him and Miss Kitty Soon. While they appreciate all of the wonderful care they are receiving at the shelter, they know that there’s really no place like home. Please help them find their forever home so they can have a happily ever after!

Ember

Ember is looking for a home! This little kittens was found stuck in a tree in Franklin, and as no one has come to claim this super friendly and outgoing little fellow, he is now looking for a new family to call his own! Ember is unusually sweet and purry, even for a kitten. He loves people and attention! He came in underweight and wormy, but is already putting on weight and will be a plump little furball in no time.

As a part of his adoption fee, he will be neutered when old enough and up to date on his shots. He has also been wormed, including preventatives for coccidia and giardia, had a fecal float performed to check for internal parasite, been given a routine medicated/ antifungal bath, and treated topically with a flea/ear mite preventative (Revolution.) He has tested feline leukemia negative.

If you are interested in adopting, please call the shelter at 507-644-3853, or else stop in during open hours, no appointment necessary, M-F 3-7 and Sat 11-1. Even if you aren’t looking to adopt, feel free to stop in anytime during open hours to play with the critters; they love it!

Dorian

Dorian needs a new home! Dorian is a super friendly and chill summer 2018 kitten who just wants to be loved on and give the loves right back. He is a very handsome brown tabby with rather distinctive markings, a mix of spots and stripes. He also has a permanent “pout” to his lips, as it appears sometime in the past he sustained an injury that partially tore his bottom lip away from the gums. The injury was already healed by the time he arrived, but his lip will always hang out a little bit as a result. It doesn’t affect him at all, though. He was found abandoned in a house, left behind by his family. Fortunately, he was found before he was more than a little thin and wormy. He has already filled out quite a bit since he arrived and is looking great! Now he just wants a family that will keep him and cherish him for the amazing kitten that he is. Are you that happy ending for Dorian?

As a part of his adoption fee, he will be neutered and up to date on his shots. He has also been wormed, including preventative for coccidia and giardia, had a fecal float performed to check for internal parasite, been given a routine antifungal bath, and treated topically with a flea/ear mite preventative (Revolution.) He has tested feline leukemia negative.

Appx. birthday: Aug. 10, 2018.

Yelp was so named for how vocal he was on arrival, crying for the food he had apparently been lacking on the streets. He was quite skinny and wormy on arrival! He has filled out nicely now, and is quite quiet and content. He is so friendly! He loves to play. He is such a social little creature!

As a part of his adoption fee, he will be neutered when old enough and up to date on his shots. He has also been wormed, including preventative for coccidia and giardia, had a fecal float performed to check for internal parasite, been given a routine antifungal bath, and treated topically with a flea/ear mite preventative (Revolution.) She has already received her first shot, has been wormed, treated with ant-giardia and anti-coccidia medications as preventatives, treated topically with a flea/ear mite preventative (Revolution), and has had an antifungal bath, all as a part of her adoption fee. She has been tested negative for feline leukemia. The eventual spay/neuter is also included in the adoption fee, but the kitten will need to be brought back to the vet we use when old enough.
