Toby and Marigold are looking for a new home! These two are littermates, born on March 12, 2018. They are both very friendly and sweet.

The kittens have already received their first shot, have been wormed, treated with ant-giardia and anti-coccidia medications as preventatives, treated topically with a flea/ear mite preventative (Revolution), and have had an antifungal bath. They have been tested negative for feline leukemia. The eventual spay/neuter is also included in the adoption fee, but the kitten will need to be brought back to the vet we use when old enough.

If you are interested in adopting a kitten, please call the shelter at 507-644-3853, or else stop in during open hours, M-F 3-7 and Sat 11-1. Even if you aren’t looking to adopt, feel free to stop in and play with the kittens during open hours, no appointment necessary.

***Hold until tails healed*** Evelyn and Adeline

Evelyn and Adeline are stray sisters who were found being chased by a dog. Unfortunately, both of their tails got damaged before they were rescued from the dog and brought to the shelter. They are also underweight. They will likely be ready to go in a few weeks. (Sometime around the beginning of June.)

We believe they were born around April 1, 2018.

Gunnar

Meet Gunnar! Gunnar was found with a badly infected front leg. It looks like he got into a fight with something with some nasty teeth. He is well on the road to healing, though, and looks like he will make a full recovery. We estimate that he a fall 2017 kitten; he is still quite young and playful and has some more growing to do. He is a sweet, outgoing cat. He’s the kind to be first at the door to greet you. He can’t get enough lap time either! He adores lounging in laps, and purring away. He is a very social cat.

Gunnar will be neutered and is up to date on his vaccinations, as a part of his adoption fee. He is tested negative for feline leukemia. He is also up to date on his wormings, including preventatives for coccidia and giardia. He has had a negative fecal float to test for internal parasites, and is kept up to date on his topical flea/ear mite preventative (Revolution.) He has also had an antifungal bath.

If you are interested in adopting, please call the shelter at 507-644-3853, or stop in during open hours, M-F 3-7 and Sat 11-1. Even if you aren’t looking to adopt, feel free to stop in during open hours, no appointment necessary, and give the critters some attention.

Butterscotch came back to the shelter from his foster home today for some updated pictures, as he has grown so much since when he first came in! We were told by his foster mom that he is extremely social and loving, and just adores being cuddled and held. He’s the kind of cat to grow a strong bond with his family. We believe him to be about a year old; he was just a kitten when he arrived about 7 months ago.

This beautiful, wonderful soul, though he very much enjoys his foster home, is looking for a permanent home to call his own. The catch is that he is special needs. You see, Butterscotch is FeLV+. It is an immunodeficieny kitty virus, which means he is more susceptible to getting sick. It is catchy to other kitties, but not to humans or any other animals. It is a kitty only illness. He has been very healthy so far, and with a good indoor home, can remain so for years.

Butterscotch has been neutered and is up to date on his vaccines. If you are interested in adopting Butterscotch, please call the shelter at 507-644-3853. He is not currently at the shelter, though a visit with him could be arranged.

Rosie

Rosie needs a new home! She is a huge (16 lb!) and gentle gal looking for a quiet home to call her home. She gets nervous about too much noise and activity. Rosie was born around 2009.

Fiona

Fiona needs a new home! Fiona is a lovely and exotic looking oriental cross of some sort, possibly an Abyssinian or Oriental shorthair cross. The photo does not do her coat color justice, but it is one of the most unique I have seen. In fact, I never have seen this before. I had to do some research to even figure out what to call that! (I’m hoping to get some pictures in better lighting to truly capture her color.) She looks to be a smoke silver tabby with white accents, where the silver tabby fades to a more chocolate tone on her hind end. She also has the most stunning orange eyes. This cat is very smart (like, problem solving intelligent) with a ton of personality. She knows what she wants, and is very forward in expressing this. She loves to be pet; she is friendly and outgoing with people she knows, or where few people are. If there are too many people or too noisy of a situation, she prefers to go off by herself. She will tell people off if they are being too pushy with her, but not violently; she does no harm, but makes her intentions clear. She also adores catnip. She is endlessly entertaining to watch with catnip. She gets along fine with other cats, but will want to be queen of her territory. As I said, tons of personality. We estimate her to be around 3-4 years old.
